Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has raised concerns over the allocation of the ₹8,452 crore PM CARES Fund, questioning why it is not being used to enhance basic infrastructure in rural government schools. Citing recent audited figures that show a significant increase in the fund's corpus, Dipke highlighted the dire conditions in several village schools he recently visited.
In a video statement, Dipke described the schools' conditions as "very bad," noting that students are struggling to access essential facilities like drinking water. He pointed out, "A report came out that there is almost ₹8,500 crore in the PM CARES Fund, which is not being used anywhere. It's not being used at all."
Dipke called for the fund to be utilized to address shortages in government schools, questioning the lack of action. "They are struggling to get drinking water in schools. So why are we not using this money for those children's schools? Why is this money not being used to build new schools?" he asked.
Officials reportedly informed Dipke that the lack of basic facilities in some schools is due to insufficient funding. He highlighted the contradiction, stating, "So on one hand, it is being said that there are no funds for schools, and on the other hand, ₹8,500 crore is lying in the PM CARES Fund."
