New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has indicated that a new phase of the group's protest campaign at Jantar Mantar will begin soon, responding to growing questions from supporters on social media. “Many people were commenting on Instagram when Season 2 of Jantar-Mantar will begin. I want to tell them that Season 2 of Jantar-Mantar is going to start very soon,” Dipke said while addressing supporters in Delhi. However, Dipke did not disclose a date for the proposed protest or specify its demands and the nature of the agitation. His announcement follows the CJP's earlier demonstrations at Jantar Mantar, which focused heavily on issues concerning students, competitive examinations and accountability in the education system. The announcement also comes days after a meeting of the CJP's core committee at Dipke's residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where future strategies were reportedly discussed. Dipke also alleged that the group encountered difficulties while trying to arrange a venue for a volunteers' meeting in Delhi. According to him, several venue owners declined to provide space after coming under unspecified “pressure.” He did not identify who was allegedly responsible for the pressure. He said the CJP eventually managed to secure a hall after considerable difficulty and had documentation confirming the booking. With Dipke now publicly signalling “Season 2,” attention is expected to focus on when the next protest will take place and what demands the CJP will put forward.
