US
President Donald Trump has sparked fresh controversy after urging countries
that did not support American military actions against Iran to secure their own
oil supplies. In a strong message, he told nations facing fuel shortages due to
disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz to either buy oil from the United States or
“go and take it” themselves.
Trump
specifically criticised allies like the United Kingdom, saying they refused to
participate in US-led strikes on Iran and should now learn to manage their own
energy needs. He also warned that the United States may no longer step in to
assist such countries, stressing that they must be prepared to “fight” for
themselves going forward.
The remarks come as tensions remain high in the region, with Iran continuing to restrict movement through the Strait of Hormuz — a critical global oil route. The ongoing situation has disrupted fuel supplies and intensified geopolitical pressure, further straining relations between the US and its allies.
