Doha:
The Center for Indian Community Qatar (CIC Qatar) has stated that the recent
Kerala Assembly Election 2026 results mark a strong rejection of political strategies
based on social polarization. According to the organisation, the verdict
reflects the firm resolve of the people of Kerala to protect social unity and
communal harmony.
In
its statement, CIC Qatar said that the electorate has clearly opposed attempts
to divide society along caste and religious lines for political gain. It noted
that divisive narratives and efforts to alienate communities have caused
significant damage to Kerala’s secular fabric. The organisation also criticised
the silence of those in power during instances that allegedly disturbed
communal harmony, stating that such inaction contributed to the rise of
divisive political forces.
The
CIC Central Committee extended its best wishes to the United Democratic Front
(UDF) leadership and the newly elected government, expressing hope that they
will uphold the mandate with responsibility and implement their promises
effectively while maintaining unity in society.
At the same time, it urged the Left Front, particularly the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), to treat the verdict as an opportunity for introspection, reform, and constructive correction, emphasising that a strong and responsible Left is essential to counter divisive forces and preserve Kerala’s model of coexistence.
