DOHA:
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, through its Wildlife Protection
Department, has carried out a series of clean-up campaigns at several
wilderness locations across the country as part of its ongoing Cleaning
and Nursery Campaigns project.
The
campaigns covered nurseries in the northern and southern regions, in addition
to western oases. The initiative was undertaken in response to the accumulation
of waste following recent rainfall and strong winds.
The ministry
stated that the campaigns aim to preserve the cleanliness of wilderness areas,
protect natural habitats, and enhance environmental sustainability, while also
raising public awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
