Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has announced the issuance of the first official identification card for licensed private tutoring teachers, as part of its ongoing efforts to regulate the private tutoring sector and enhance the quality of educational services provided to students.

The
Ministry said the identification card serves as official proof that a teacher
holds an approved license and must be presented while offering private tutoring
services, whether at licensed educational centers or in homes. The move aims to
promote transparency, protect students and parents, and curb unregulated
tutoring practices outside the legal framework.
MoEHE
noted that dealing with private tutors will be restricted to those holding both
a valid license and the approved ID card. The measure is expected to improve
professional and ethical standards among tutors, enable quicker verification by
regulatory authorities, and increase public confidence in private tutoring services.
Iman
Ali Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Educational Services Centers Department, said
182 teachers were approved out of 272 interviewed after rigorous checks on
qualifications, experience, residency status, and interviews. She added that
tutoring centers were given a one-month grace period to rectify the status of
remaining teachers, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to quality education
in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
