Doha,
Qatar: Qatar Airways has informed passengers travelling to Georgia that mandatory health and accident insurance is
now in effect for all tourists entering the country, in accordance with
Georgia’s Law “On Tourism”.
According
to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the insurance policy must provide
coverage of at least 30,000 Georgian
Lari (approximately QR 40,000). The policy may be in physical or
electronic form, must be issued in Georgian
or English, and remain valid for the entire duration of the traveller’s
stay.
The ministry said the policy must include details such as insured risks, coverage territory, and validity period. The requirement does not apply to holders of diplomatic passports and visas, individuals covered under international treaties, or drivers engaged in international freight and passenger transportation.
