Doha, Qatar: The Marine Protection Department of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) has uncovered the presence of a rare seahorse, locally referred to as Buzaizi, during a routine field survey at the Khor Al Adaid Nature Reserve at Sealine Beach.
This discovery, made within seagrass areas, underscores the reserve's healthy environmental conditions, which are crucial for sustaining the species.
The ministry emphasized the seahorse's ecological significance as an indicator of marine ecosystem health. The presence of this rare marine fish reinforces the importance of protecting natural habitats like seagrass beds, which are vital for biodiversity.
