Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher
Education has announced that the online application process for the Qatar
Education Excellence Award will open from October 1 to 31, inviting prospective
candidates to review the approved criteria and prepare required documents for
submission via the electronic system.
CEO of the Qatar Education Excellence Award,
Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi, said the award continues to honour outstanding
individuals from Qatar and highlight their scientific, educational, and
research achievements while fostering a culture of excellence and creativity
within society. She noted that the award's objectives go beyond increasing the
number of winners, extending to fostering an appreciation for the value of
excellence and its impact on personal development and national progress.
Al Mohannadi expressed hope that
participation will enrich candidates' knowledge, hone their skills, and drive
them to further cultivate their potential, adding that the award looks forward
to seeing distinguished individuals transform their success stories into
tangible impact across educational, professional, research, and societal fields.
The online application portal will remain open until October 31, 2026, with
results announced on February 4, 2027, and the awards ceremony taking place on
April 18.
As part of preparations, the award organised
virtual introductory sessions in June covering nomination criteria, evaluation
standards, and requirements for various categories, followed by a September
session on the electronic system and application process. Applicants are
encouraged to use the Help Center on the award's website, which features
frequently asked questions regarding eligibility criteria and requirements for
each of the award's nine categories.
In 2026, the award received 371 applicants, a 34 percent increase compared to 2025, with 108 winners comprising 38 platinum medallists and 70 gold medallists. The award forms part of national efforts to foster a culture of excellence and innovation, contributing to human capital development and supporting the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
