Doha: Ministry of Public Health is strengthening national capacities in healthcare-associated infection surveillance to support a unified national programme based on scientific evidence and standardized criteria. The Ministry said effective surveillance systems help detect risks early and improve patient safety across healthcare institutions.
As
part of the initiative, the Ministry organized a national workshop with the
participation of around 100 healthcare professionals from government,
semi-government and private sectors. The workshop focused on surveillance
methods, data collection tools and infection prevention indicators.
Experts from the Ministry and Hamad Medical Corporation conducted scientific sessions and practical exercises aimed at enhancing infection prevention and control practices. The Ministry stressed that stronger surveillance systems help reduce infection rates and improve the quality of healthcare services in Qatar.
