Doha: Qatar
has launched the National Volunteer Platform, a new initiative aimed at
developing and organising the country's volunteer work system through a unified
framework based on governance, transparency, and efficiency.
In
a social media post, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh
Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani said the launch comes as an
appreciation for the volunteer efforts provided by community members, stemming
from their social responsibility and desire to give. "We value their
tireless efforts in serving the community, and we look forward to organising
these efforts through the platform in a way that enhances transparency and
efficiency within the volunteer work system," he added.
The platform was officially launched during a ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani and Minister of Social Development and Family HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi. The new platform enables citizens and residents aged 18 and above to register, explore volunteering opportunities across the country, apply for activities, and receive certificates documenting their volunteering hours.
