U.S., Iran agree to halt strikes, Doha talks planned for Tuesday: Axios

Doha, Qatar: The United States and Iran have agreed to halt military strikes against each other and will hold talks in Doha on Tuesday to address their dispute over the Strait of Hormuz, according to an Axios report citing a senior U.S. official.

The report said both sides have agreed to stop all "kinetic activity" following days of renewed military exchanges that had threatened a fragile ceasefire. As part of the understanding, commercial vessels will be allowed to move freely through the Strait of Hormuz while technical discussions continue.

The Doha meeting is expected to focus on easing tensions over navigation through the strategic waterway and preventing further escalation. The talks were reportedly shifted from Switzerland to Qatar amid the recent rise in hostilities between the two countries
