In the aftermath of the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, the Ministry of Health has issued a warning about the deteriorating health and humanitarian situation.
A report released on Wednesday reveals that 22 out of 38 hospitals are knocked out of service. Additionally, there is a critical shortage of medical supplies, with 47% of essential medications and 65% of medical consumables completely depleted.
Currently, only 30 of the 105 primary healthcare centers are functioning, and bed occupancy has surged beyond 106%. The report highlights that, under catastrophic conditions, only 50 out of 104 operating rooms remain operational.
The report noted that 25 out of 34 oxygen generation stations in Gaza have been devastated, leaving only 9 stations partially operational. Moreover, 12 out of 19 CT scanners have been destroyed, and 7 MRI machines have been entirely eliminated, resulting in a complete lack of diagnostic MRI capabilities in the enclave.
