Hamas has announced its decision to release Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, who also holds United States citizenship. He noted that Hamas has been in communication with the U.S. administration in recent days and has demonstrated a constructive attitude during these discussions.

Hamas has expressed its willingness to commence intensive negotiations immediately and is committed to making substantial efforts to achieve a final agreement aimed at ending the conflict. Key objectives include facilitating a hostage and prisoner exchange, establishing an independent and professional authority to manage the Gaza Strip, and ensuring long-term calm and stability in the region, along with facilitating reconstruction and the lifting of the blockade.
