Qatar: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stated that the
19th Consultative Meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
embodies a unified and solid position regarding current regional developments.
The summit, held in Riyadh on April 28, 2026, focused on strengthening Gulf
integration and addressing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
In
a social media post, the Amir highlighted that the meeting serves as a vital
platform for the GCC to coordinate a collective response to the humanitarian
crisis in the region. He emphasized that the council remains committed to a
peaceful resolution and the immediate cessation of hostilities. The discussions
also touched upon the necessity of ensuring the continuous flow of humanitarian
aid to affected populations.
The summit concluded with a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted ties between member states. Leaders stressed that the GCC’s strength lies in its ability to present a cohesive front during times of instability, ensuring that the interests and security of the Gulf people remain protected. The Amir thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for hosting the session and fostering a spirit of cooperation.
