Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has announced a temporary closure of Doha Corniche as part of arrangements for the Doha Marathon scheduled this weekend. Motorists are advised to plan their travel in advance and use alternative routes during the closure period.

According to the MOI, the closure will be in place from 10pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026, until 2pm on Friday, January 16, 2026. During this time, traffic will be fully restricted from West Bay near Sheraton Grand Hotel to Old Doha Port, including surrounding roads near Al Bidda Park, Amiri Diwan, and Souq Waqif.

In addition to the full closure, partial traffic restrictions will be implemented on several roads leading to the Corniche. The ministry has urged road users to follow directional signage and cooperate with traffic authorities to ensure smooth movement and public safety throughout the event.
