Doha, Qatar: Qatar Customs
has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1.84 kilograms of methamphetamine
(Shabu) after a vigilant customs inspector raised suspicion
over a shipment arriving at Hamad Port. The alert prompted authorities to subject the
consignment to closer examination.
Following a
detailed review of the customs declaration and supporting documents, the
container was scanned using advanced inspection equipment, which revealed the
narcotic substance concealed inside the hollow compartments of audio speakers.
The seized drugs were confiscated and handed over to the concerned authorities
for further legal action.
