Doha, Qatar: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has reported significant progress in delivering specialised healthcare services for the elderly, in line with Qatar’s national strategy for promoting healthy ageing. Through advanced preventive and therapeutic care, HMC continues to enhance the quality of life and independence of older adults.

A key contributor to this achievement is the Sarcopenia Clinic at Rumailah Hospital, which has treated 641 older adults since its launch in 2023. The clinic saw an 83 percent increase in new patient registrations in 2025 compared to 2024, reflecting the growing demand for targeted care addressing age-related muscle loss and mobility issues.

The clinic offers comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment, including early detection, personalised exercise programmes, nutrition guidance, and regular follow-up. Clinical outcomes show marked improvements in muscle strength, balance, walking speed, and overall mobility, enabling many patients to regain confidence, reduce fall risk, and maintain independence in daily life.
