Doha, Qatar: Qatar has officially joined the Pax Silica Declaration, strengthening its role in global economic cooperation focused on technology, supply chain resilience and economic security. The framework was signed by the Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, H E Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, and the US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, H E Jacob Helberg.
Dr.
Al-Sayed said the declaration marks a significant step in Qatar–US relations,
highlighting cooperation in advanced technologies such as semiconductors,
artificial intelligence and secure supply chains. He underlined Qatar’s
commitment to trusted international partnerships, noting that investments in
digital infrastructure and cloud computing are positioning the country as a
regional technology hub.
Helberg described the initiative as part of a global shift toward “silicon diplomacy,” driven by computing power and critical minerals. With Qatar joining, Pax Silica now includes eight members, aiming to promote secure, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the AI era.
