Doha: The 8th edition of DPS-DQ MUN 2026, hosted by DPS-Modern Indian School, unfolded under the theme "Justice Beyond Borders," bringing together young minds to engage with pressing global issues through diplomacy, dialogue, and collaboration.
The conference provided 214 delegates with a platform to examine international concerns, articulate diverse perspectives, negotiate solutions, and experience multilateral diplomacy. The Opening Ceremony featured an address by Principal Ms. Soma Bhattacharjee, followed by a keynote by Mrs. Amina Safi Hassan, setting the tone for three days of meaningful dialogue. Over three intensive days, participants moved from opening statements and committee discussions to caucusing, negotiation, and resolution drafting, demonstrating confidence, critical thinking, and a keen understanding of global affairs.
The Closing Ceremony was graced by Chief
Guest Mr. Yasir Nainar, Chairman, DPS Group of Schools, who inspired students
to carry the principles of leadership and international cooperation into their
future endeavours. Principal Ms. Soma Bhattacharjee reflected on the spirit of
dialogue and collaboration, appreciating the efforts of the teachers in charge,
organisers, chairs, and delegates. Ms. Asna Nafees, Group Academic Advisor,
reflected on the theme through the message of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin
Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, at the United Nations on
upholding humanity beyond boundaries, and encouraged delegates to think
critically and engage through dialogue and diplomacy.
The ceremony featured reflections from student ambassadors and Head Chairs of each committee before announcing the awardees, including the "Best Delegate," "Honourable Mentions," and "Best Improvement Award" for outstanding performance and diplomatic acumen. A specially curated newsletter and video montage capturing the highlights of the three-day conference were also unveiled, and the closing flag ceremony marked the culmination of the 8th edition of DPS-DQ MUN 2026.
