Spain's
World Cup campaign got off to a disappointing start as they were held to a 0-0
draw by Cape Verde in their opening Group H match. Despite dominating
possession and creating several promising opportunities, the Spanish side was
unable to break down a resilient Cape Verde defense that produced a disciplined
performance throughout the contest.
The result leaves Spain with work to do in the race for qualification from Group H. While the European giants remain strong contenders to reach the knockout stages, they will be eager to improve their attacking sharpness and secure a first victory in their next outing.
