Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department has issued a weather warning for the upcoming weekend, forecasting a period of strong winds and high seas. Northwesterly winds are expected to intensify across the country, reaching speeds of up to 25 knots in some areas. These conditions are anticipated to significantly impact both coastal and inland regions as the seasonal weather patterns transition.

The primary impact will be felt offshore, where wave heights are projected to rise as high as 8 feet. Additionally, the strong gusts are likely to stir up blowing dust, which may occasionally reduce horizontal visibility for drivers, particularly in open areas and along highways. Despite the turbulent conditions, daytime temperatures are expected to remain within the typical range for late April.

In light of these forecasts, the QMD urges the public to avoid all maritime excursions and remain cautious while traveling. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the latest weather developments through the department's official social media channels to ensure safety throughout the weekend.
