Doha: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MoSDF) has launched the
“Walk Your Kids to School” (“Wassel Eyalak”) campaign as part of its Back to
School activities, encouraging parents to accompany their children on their
journey to school.
The
initiative aims to turn the daily school commute into an opportunity for
parents and children to communicate, share concerns and strengthen their family
bond.
The
ministry said regular parental involvement can help children feel safer, more
confident and emotionally prepared for school. Small, consistent moments of
interaction can also support their social and educational development.
MoSDF
Director of Public Relations Hamad Jarhab said the campaign seeks to transform
an everyday routine into a meaningful educational opportunity, while Maryam
Abdullah al-Mohannadi of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education
highlighted the importance of family involvement in children’s emotional and
social well-being.
The
campaign brings together MoSDF, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education,
the Government Communications Office, Qatar Foundation, Aman, Wifaq and Kanaf
to promote stronger family participation and support children throughout the
school year.
